QUICK FACTS ABOUT MELANOMA: FACT: Melanoma is the #1 cause of cancer death in women 25-30 years old. FACT: A tan is the skin's response to injury. The use of tanning beds DOUBLES the risk of getting skin cancer. LONG TERM USERS INCREASE THEIR RISK OF HAVING SKIN CANCER BY 8 TIMES! FACT: If caught in the earliest stages, melanoma is entirely treatable with a survival rate of nearly 100%. If untreated and allowed to spread, there is no known treatment or cure.
